Hi, I’m Yasi Reh. I'm a singer-songwriter from DC and this is my Plaid Dog Crowdfunding Campaign for my debut studio EP.

I’ve been singing forever. It’s always been cathartic for me to learn new music. I’ve found more comfort and solidarity in music than almost anything else in my life. There is just something incomparably warm and safe in music, and I’ve always hoped to be able to create that for people with my music. Songwriting for me is an escape and release of thoughts that just won’t leave my mind otherwise, and it’s very therapeutic to have people relate to what I’m expressing.

In the past few years I really feel like I’ve found my voice in music. I’ve always known the music that I love and gravitate toward, but I haven’t had the opportunity to really reach the intensity and production quality that I would like to think my songs deserve, and it’s held me back from even attempting to produce them. But finally, after years of trial and error, and beginning my music production journey, and learning to play different instruments, I feel like I have the necessary communication tools to bring my musical vision to life. Only first, I need your help.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio EP.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Ryan Gallagher in Boston, MA. Ryan is a Boston-based producer and engineer with 15+ years of experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Ryan and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life.

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Communion,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Communion" on my own, to create an EP of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Ryan and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the EP. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this EP. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the EP will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Finishing this EP would be a huge step in my career. Having a professionally completed body of work to give to labels, festivals, and other musical endeavors is crucial for the hopes of meeting my goals. I would be very grateful to be able to promote myself in such a meaningful way.
