Hello world! My name is voxwhite and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Kansas City, Missouri.

I’ve spent the last 24 years of my life occupying influential spaces that encourage pushing creative boundaries. In that time, I’ve pursued opportunities to grow as an artist, a storyteller, a producer and a musician. All of which has lead me to this moment. Music is one of the only things that’s made complete sense to me, thus i’m so excited to share this new collection of songs with you.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson in Boston, MA. Mike is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Mike and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “GIRLNEXTDOOR,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "GIRLNEXTDOOR” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Mike and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

Music has a funny way of bringing us together in ways we couldn’t otherwise. It’s divinely designed to offer a unity and connection that can’t be manufactured elsewhere. I feel as if I’ve been commissioned to leverage the gift that’s in my hand to match the desire of my heart; to connect with people in new and meaningful ways.

This thing that I do is certainly not a one man show. It takes a village of incredibly gifted musicians, teachers, friends and family that continue to challenge me in extraordinary ways. There’s been so many defining moments that i could share, but if it hadn’t been for my parent’s putting on their mixtapes in the car when i was 3yrs old, or my mother telling me i had to learn piano at 15 for our worship team, or my band teacher, who saw my potential, pushing me to be our jazz pianist 2 years later, I likely wouldn’t be here today -  pouring my heart out on a digital canvas for the world to experience. 

While I’ve never made a project of this caliber before, I have had a hand in many creative works over the years that have not only given me a framework of clarity and depth, but also fresh vision for the future. This album is filled to the brim with new sounds, stories and moments that I’m eager to bring to life.This is no small thing to me! With your support, I will achieve what I’ve only dreamed of for years. I pray that through this process, there will be a world of greater opportunity on the other side.
