Hello world! My name is Tiah Zuzulo and I'm a singer-songwriter currently based  in the beautiful city of Philadelphia, PA.

Coming from a very musical family, I’ve been surrounded by music my whole life. I’ve always experimented with different outlets for my creativity; the violin in elementary school, the trumpet in middle school, choir and theater in high school, and finally committing to the acoustic guitar and finding a love for songwriting and performing in my first year of college. Music is now one of the most important parts of my life and has become a way to connect with so many diverse communities, having lived and performed in Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia. One of my favorite parts of being a musician is sharing my experiences and music with other creatives, and now with you! After writing my first recorded song 5 years ago, I wrote in my notebook, “I will share my music with the world.” With your help, I’m so excited to do just that!

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Carter Sanders  in Boston, MA. Carter is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together,  and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “JUNE” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "June” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts.  and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It is such a unique and rewarding opportunity to play a role in the incredible effects that music can have on people and that it has had on my own life. Not only is it a way to connect with others by sharing vulnerable, lived experiences, but it thrives on collaboration. It is this element of the creative process that has given me so much inspiration and shown me the support and perspectives of my peers that I would not have seen otherwise. Music is healing, connecting, and expressive, and I hope that this project is all of those things for you. 

This EP will allow me to define my style and sound as an artist and to share it with a broader range of listeners. I believe that I have a unique perspective to share and that it will resonate with many of you! Being able to share a complete EP both with those who have been supporting me since the beginning and those who have never heard my music before would be a huge step towards my goal of becoming a full-time musician. This project is an entirely new scope of my musical endeavors, and while that can be intimidating, I know that it will be worth every second of work that the amazing Plaid Dog team and I have put into it! It has already allowed me to build so many incredible relationships and learn so much that I will take with me into the rest of my career. In this project, specifically, it has been so special to involve my peers, friends, and family so deeply. I Blame Myself will not only be a product of mine and the Plaid Dog team’s efforts, but of every donation, encouraging word, or bit of support from the people I’ve shared it with. I blame each and every one of you for I Blame Myself, and I hope you blame yourself too!
