Hello world! My name is Tanvi Das, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Sharon, MA.

Music has always been a largely influential part of my life. According to my family, it’s something I’ve wanted to pursue since before I can even remember. I began taking voice lessons when I was very young, and I participated in school choirs, musicals, and a cappella groups throughout grade school. Songwriting is how I express myself and spread my message. I’ve known this is what I was meant to do since I was in 7th grade. I cannot wait to share everything I’ve been creating with all of you!

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Bryan Fennelly in Boston, MA. Bryan is a Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Bryan and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Rory (Do You Feel Held?),” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Rory (Do You Feel Held?)” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Bryan and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Music is a great way for me to express myself in ways I wouldn’t know how to do otherwise. It has saved my life, and I don’t know where I would be today without it. Music has the ability to help us heal and bring people together. My hope is that someone listening to my music can relate to it and that it can help them heal or gain a new perspective.

I couldn’t have gotten to this point without the help of the people in my life. My parents have always pushed me to work harder, and my first voice teacher believed in me when I was quite young. My cousins introduced me to a wider variety of music, and my friends have supported me and motivated me to improve. 

While I've never made a music project of this caliber before, I released an independently recorded and produced album last summer called “Group Therapy”. This project is a chance to better myself as a musician, allow me to get my foot in the door of the music world, make more connections, and collaborate with other musicians. I have been choosing my best songs to record, tweaking them, and even writing new songs. With your support, I will channel that consistent work and experience into something new and beautiful that we’ll have made together.
