Hello world! My name is Sunshine Scott, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Nashville, TN.

I joke about it all the time but i was quite literally born in the band. I come from an extremely musical family and have been singing since i was 2 years old. I started acting, performing, writing songs, making my own stage costumes, basically anything creative you can think of, i have been doing it since i was a kid.

This EP is all about longing, love, and the wonderful dreams that come with that. These are my most intuitive creations yet and i feel like i have finally captured an introduction to the essence of my dreamworld. I hope to bring eclectic and exciting sounds to your ears as well as weaving comforting nostalgia into every track.

It has not been an easy road for me. I have always known what i want to do but have lacked the connections, money and resources to make it happen. Right now i am an entirely diy artist and by that i mean ENTIERLY diy. I have a catalogue of over 3,000 songs i have written and about 7 concept albums and just havent had the resources to make them come to life. At this point for my music, I have been the writer, producer, performer, costume designer, graphic designer, music video director, editor, the list goes on and on and now is the time that i need your help.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio EP.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded EP with Mike Davidson in Boston, MA. Mike is a Boston-based producer and engineer with 15+ years of experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Mike and I are digging into my original material, mixing/mastering my arrangements, and collaborating with my musicians and musicians in Boston to bring the songs to life.

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Pipedream,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Pipedream" on my own, to create an EP of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Mike and I will finish crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the EP. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this EP. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the EP will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

The success of this campaign would mean everything to me. I have spent my entire life trying to make it my fulltime career but haven't had the resources to make it happen. Your support will help me introduce the world to my body of work and give me a shot at living my dream.

I want to create fantastical worlds that people can escape into when life is too much, to feel to dream, to express themselves, to heal. I want to give them melodies to hum, rhythms to dance to, and stories to believe in.

That way when they come back to the real world, they can see with new eyes and know they are going to be okay.
