Overview

Hello world! We are Starikova, a band from the beautiful state of New Jersey.

Starikova has been a project that has been in the works as far back as Spring 2018 where guitarist John Diaz sought out to form the band he always wanted to see and hear. After years of networking and working with a variety of musicians John was able to connect with drummer Nini Alfano. After two and a half years of rehearsing, writing, and searching for committed members, the duo were able to recruit guitarist Ricky Rose and through his efforts, bassist Tyler Duane.

This roster of Starikova has been together since September 2022 and in only the last couple of months have played shows throughout New Jersey. The band has been tenacious in working on new music for an upcoming EP while also tightening their live performances. 

In order to present an excellent product to you, the audience, and display the fruits of our labor - we need your help! 

We've got a collection of great songs ready to record -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step towards creating our first ever, professionally produced studio EP.

This campaign is raising funds for our professionally recorded EP with Boston-based producer Ryan Gallagher, who’s worked with a plethora of professional talents. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song,“Echo Born of the Violent Cacophony,”  which is ready for you to check out below!

While we were able to fund the recording process for "Echo Born of the Violent Cacophony" on our own, to create an EP of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign will enable us to to collaborate with Plaid Dog studios and see our ambitions realized. 

 Your donation will assist in covering  the following costs of our project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. From managing the arrangements for each song slated for the EP, rehearse to fine-tune the songs and, and talk through how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this EP. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the EP will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish. The way we could only dream of.

It's hard to express how much this project would change our lives.

As a band that is just starting out, having a professionally recorded EP would help our growth immensely. We barely have any demo quality recordings of our songs, so this EP with Plaid Dog would show the world exactly how we envisioned our music to sound. This project will be essential in helping our band get their feet off the ground in the music industry and ramp up our show count amongst other musical opportunities.
