Hello world! We are Running Late and we’re a band from the beautiful city of Tallahassee

Running Late started making music in Tallahassee, Florida in the summer of 2023. It was formed as a passion project between friends, though we quickly noticed people began to gravitate towards our unique sound. Our music tows the line between folk and indie rock, combined with ambient soundscapes and powerful vocals. Touching on themes of time, nostalgia, love, and the human experience, our music resonates with a wide audience.

We released our debut EP in August of 2024, but have never recorded a full length album. For the past year we have been putting all of our effort into writing new songs and finding ways to grow as a band, so that we can reach the heights we know we are capable of. Now, in order for these songs to live up to our standards and be available for anyone to listen to, we need your help!

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album

This campaign is raising funds for our professionally recorded album with Carter Sanders  in Boston, MA. Carter is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, we are digging into our original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Road Underwater,” and you can check it out below!

While We've been able to fund the recording process for "Road Underwater” on our own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of our project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts.  and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change our life.

Music is one of our strongest forms of self-expression. It has enabled us to share our feelings and life experiences with a wider audience in an accessible way. In our journey as a band thus far, we have been able to connect with others who deeply resonate with the themes our music explores. One of the most rewarding parts of being a musician is building a safe space for catharsis and conversation among this community that believes in our message.

To us, music means community. While we continue to build a fanbase, we also use our music to connect with those who have contributed to our artistic journeys over the course of our lives. From musicians in our local scene that we look up to, to friends throughout all stages of life who have supported our dreams, to our families who introduced us to music that still influences us today, we hope that the music we create makes them proud and shows them that their constant support inspires us. 

For the past year, we have been putting our absolute all into this band. From the ground up, we have been able to create a unique sound, brand, and the start of our future careers. While we’ve never taken on such a big project before, we feel that with our hard work up to this point–along with your help–we can make it happen!
