Hello world! My name is Phillip Enkey, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Springville Utah.

I’ve been writing music since I was 12 years old. Playing songs on my guitar and writing the feelings I'm experiencing has been a natural coping mechanism for me and I have a blast doing it. Recently I've had the adventure of performing music around the country in places like Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Austin, Jacksonville and Tuscon. I've been able to perform with artists like William Michael Morgan, Sawyer Brown, Fozzy and Tristan Cole. After pouring everything I’ve learned into songwriting, into stories, into harmony, the only thing left is to share the sounds in my head and my heart with all of you.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Carter Sanders in Boston, MA. Carter is a Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Carter and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Believe in You,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Believe in You" on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Carter and I will start crafting the arrangements for each of the songs that will go on the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music. It’s where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every musician.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture, and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

My vision is to start a movement of kindness, love and healing. I honestly believe that my music is the vehicle that will help me accomplish that mission.

Music has this incredible ability to heal people and unite people, to express feelings that help us feel connected in fundamental human ways. All of us have had experiences in life that are really hard, hurt really bad and leave scars that are daily reminders of the experiences that built us. How magical is it when you find music that is able to speak into a melody the feelings you have felt and the motivation that you need to keep pushing through? That's a magic that I have always felt with music and that I attempt to create within my own. This project is a chance for my message of kindness, love and healing to be given a professional production that will make it more accessible to those that need it.

The beautiful part of this is that I can't do this on my own. I wasn't born into wealth and I have yet to create it for myself. So I need your help in making this vision possible. I would love for you to be on my team in helping spread kindness, love and healing to those that need a little help. Music is about community and connection.
