Hello world! My name is Moriah Ramos and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Highland,California.

I’ve been making music my whole life, singing in church, in choirs, performing at local farmers markets, overseas, having jam sessions with friends and family; as well as songwriting for others. After pouring everything I’ve learned into songwriting, into stories, into harmony, the only thing left is to share the sounds in my head and my heart with all of you.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson in Boston, MA. Mike is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Mike and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Wake Up,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Wake Up” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Mike and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Music is a universal language with the  incredible ability to heal and unite people, to express feelings that help us feel connected to one another and things beyond this world. I am, for the first time in my life, feeling brave enough to share my music and let it take flight and bring light to whomever needs it.

Music is, for me, my therapy, my lifeline, a bridge between the physical and the spiritual, helping make sense of the human experience where mere words fall short. It is a communal process that brings people from all walks of life together–through family’s support, lifelong friendships, and inspiring musician friends throughout the years, they have all played a part in weaving my voice and perspective as an artist. When I was young my wonderful family would sit and listen to the many many songs I’d make and always encouraged me to keep going in my winnings and failures in my discovery of what my purpose in life would shape out to be. I’ve shared so many musical experiences with the ones I love over the years and my hope for this project is to broaden my horizons, take a leap of faith to grow my community with those who share the same passion to express the deepest parts of the soul through the creative expression of music and all that comes with it.

While I've never made a music project of this caliber before, I have managed and executed creative projects of all types: in songwriting for other artists, orchestrating sets for bands, mentoring young musicians to find their voice, video productions, Choreographed Musical/Dance productions, Creative Writing projects, Set designs and even being a Mom of 3 requires lots of ingenuity! All these multifaceted versions of my artist journey have been preparation to grow, deepening my musical focus, training and helping me navigate for where I want to go with my music. With your support, I will channel that consistent work and experience into something new and beautiful that we have made together.
