Hello world! We are Low Level Operator, a band here in the beautiful city of Northlake, IL.

In the summer of 2017, we marching band nerds collided and created the band “Low Level Operator.” After playing covers, local gigs, and acquiring a small fanbase, we wanted to try our hand at creating original music. We amalgamated our different stylistic backgrounds to create a sound that would only produce one thing: raw emotion. After running idea after idea, we finally have a collection of material that we can be proud of. We’re super excited about the material we’ve been working on and are so ready to take this big next step as a band, but first, we need your help!

We've got a collection of great songs ready to record -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating our first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for our professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson in Boston, MA.

Mike is a Boston-based producer and engineer with 15+ years of experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, we’re digging into our original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing a demo version of one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “My Flatmates Can Hear Me,” and you can check it out below!

While we were able to fund the initial recording process for "My Flatmates Can Hear Me" on our own, to create an album of songs of professional quality and full production, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of the project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. We’ll start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album, hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements, and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change our lives.

A well-recorded album would open a lot of doors for our group in terms of future opportunities, namely in securing larger venues and acquiring a wider listenership. We’ve always had ideas that we wanted to put into sound. With the help of our producer, we can create something that we can be proud of and attract an audience that will really enjoy it.

Our families and friends have all been incredibly nurturing of our talents. Without that early encouragement this band might not even exist. We can't wait to show fans old and new what we can do!
