Hello world! My name is LOV and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Brooklyn, New York.

I’ve been writing songs my whole life and producing and releasing music as LOV since I was 14 years old. I’ve performed in clubs, bars, and music venues in the city and across the country since 2015. Music is as natural as breathing for me, and sharing it with others is the most exciting part of it. I’ve been recording entire projects in my bedroom, including my debut album, and releasing them for over 10 years. I’ve been working on so much new music for the past few years, and I’m so excited to begin showing what I’ve got.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Carter Sanders  in Boston, MA. Carter is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together,  and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Snake Charmer,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Snake Charmer” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts.  and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Music is an incredibly important part of how we all connect with each other and a crucial component to how I and many others create our own identity. This project, and most of my music, is about exactly that– taking what is handed to you and choosing to create something beautiful and purely your own to put back out into the world. These songs were written to heal myself, and I hope they can help you too.

Music and art is not only such a communal and collective process– from working with incredible musicians or seeing my artist friends push themselves and inspiring me in different ways– but it’s also such a deeply personal and emotional experience. We can all connect to the same song in extremely different ways, breathing the lyrics in and sculpting it to fit our own lives while feeling that excitement to be a part of a community of people who understand your love of something that feels so intimate. I love playing a show and seeing people meet in the crowd, share a moment, or dance their hearts out with their best friends. Being a part of that experience and building a space where people feel comfortable to step out is what makes me happiest, and I know this new music has the potential to create a much larger community with my music.

I’ve never recorded music in a studio, but I have been preparing over 10 years for the opportunity to step my art up to that caliber. I have learned a lot from putting out my debut album, three EPs, and five singles independently, and with your support I can use that momentum and foundation to put out something unlike anything I have released myself or seen before. I call myself the “Brooklyn Banjo Pop Queen,” and I’m more ready than ever to step into that.
