Hello world! My name is Anna, and I'm a singer-songwriter from the beautiful city of Portland, Maine

I’ve been making music for a few years now, and performing since I was little. I grew up performing in local musical theater productions, and my junior year of high school I enrolled in a music program where I found my love for writing and performing my own music. After pouring everything I’ve learned into songwriting, into stories, into harmony, the only thing left is to share the sounds in my head and my heart with all of you.

The material is ready, the musicians are waiting--this Indiegogo campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Bryan Fennelly, a Boston-based producer and engineer working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Bryan and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life.

I’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Abyss,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Abyss" on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Bryan and I will start crafting the arrangements for each of the songs that will go on the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music. It’s where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every musician.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture, and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Music has this incredible ability to heal people and unite people, to express feelings that help us feel connected in fundamental human ways. I am, for the first time in my life, feeling brave enough to offer my music up to my community as part of that bigger picture.

Music is definitely an emotional process, and when you have help and support from your colleagues it makes it even better. Incredible musician friends have pushed me become better and given me a wide perspective on different types of music, my classmates in high school are there for all of my performances, and of course my family is always giving me the greatest support anyone could ask for. Music is about letting out your emotions and connecting with other people through those emotions. Through these songs, I want my words to relate and connect with all of you.

I have recorded some songs before with small local studios and at home, always on a limited budget, but I'm very excited to branch out with this new experience -- using high quality equipment and facilities, collaborating with fantastic musicians, and really bringing my work to life. Performing music is the one thing I am the most confident in. With your support, I'll be able to create a project that I can feel proud of, and that I can use to carve out a place for myself in the music industry.
