Thank you to everyone who has supported our campaign so far, and for helping me reach my goal early! I’m so incredibly grateful and excited to make this album for you. Because I’ve made so much amazing progress so quickly, I’m hoping to add a BONUS TRACK! There’s still time to make this happen, and any contribution goes a long way to making this album bigger and better than ever. Thank you again, and I can’t wait to get back into the studio to make more music!

Hello world! My name is Kyle Huffman, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Charleston, WV.

Ever since I was a teenager, I have been working on music. Writing, recording, playing, and performing my own original songs is not just a hobby of mine, but it is a full-blown passion. My hope is that this music will serve as an enticing way to get across these central messages: that we all struggle in this world, that God loves you, and that He cares about the intricacies in your life. My hope is that you’ll receive this project as something more exciting and challenging than your average Christian radio station and that is meaningful to your life in some way.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Bryan Fennelly in Boston, MA. Bryan is a Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Bryan and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “The Peacemaker,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "The Peacemaker” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Bryan and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Music has always provided me with a way to communicate ideas, thoughts, and feelings about the world around me in a way that words never could. For me, the ideas of joy, pain, inadequacy, fear, thankfulness, and love have always been difficult to verbalize, but somehow, through music, I’ve felt more successful. I so desire to share the message of God’s love with people who maybe do not know of it. I specifically want to do this through music that may cause those people to hear that message in a different or a new way.

My life has been blessed in so many ways. My amazing wife, Claire, has been very supportive of me since way back in the day. I have been privileged to have an incredible church family at Oakwood Baptist Church. My family is awesome, and I have been surrounded by great people my whole life. With this album, I want to return thanks for what I’ve been given.

Since about age 13, I’ve dreamed of taking my music to the next level by recording a professional studio album. I never thought it would be possible, and it still would not be possible without your help today. With your help, I will work as hard as I can to share this message of love with anyone who will listen.
