Hello world! My name is Jeremy Schantz and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Tampa, FL.

I’m a fantasy-loving Midwest kid turned Tampa frontman, Falterboy writes songs for people who feel deeply but still want to move. Growing up a self-proclaimed dork obsessed with D&D, Lord of the Rings, and every underdog story I could find, I learned early that heroes are the ones who show up even when life seems impossible.

My music follows the same rule — serious, emotional lyrics set to bright, energetic, feel-good tempos. Chuck Taylors, black T-shirts, and my heart out on my sleeve, I try to bring a blend of honesty, humor, and high energy to the stage, turning every show into a choose your own adventure that’s worth remembering.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Ryan Gallagher  in Boston, MA. Ryan is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together,  and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Maybe Next Week,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Maybe Next Week” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts.  and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

Music has always been the place where I level up—where heavy feelings get turned into something loud, bright, and worth shouting along to. It’s crazy how a song can take a room full of strangers and make them feel like the same party of adventurers on a shared quest. After a long break from releasing new music, I finally feel ready—and super excited—to bring my songs back to my city and my community.

Nothing I do in music has ever been a solo mission. I’m here because of the friends who pushed me to grow, the musicians who shaped me, the family who filled my world with every kind of music when I was young.  Music has always been about connection for me, and one of my biggest hopes with this new chapter is to find even more collaborators and creative partners to build something meaningful together.

This isn’t my first big project, but it is the first time in a decade that I’m stepping back into the world of releasing new music. In the years between albums, I kept creating—design, events, video, all kinds of projects that taught me how to bring ideas to life. And through it all, I stayed writing, practicing, and sharpening who I am as an artist. With your support, I’m ready to take everything I’ve learned and pour it into something honest, powerful, and unforgettable—something we build together.
