Hello world! My name is Jennifer Gammill, and I'm a singer-songwriter in the beautiful city of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

I’ve been performing in the Hampton Roads area for 15 years, in Celtic and 4-part vocal ensembles, as a soloist and jazz artist on flute, vocals, and piano, and all along the way writing songs and making albums. This new batch of songs is about my most recent journey of finding faith in myself and the drive to make a living on my own.

The material is ready, the musicians are waiting--this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my brand new, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Bryan Fennelly. Bryan is a Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Bryan and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Las Vegas Queen” and you can check it out below!

While we were able to fund the recording process for "Las Vegas Queen" already, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio time costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Bryan and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs, arrangements, and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end, so the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

I absolutely love my job - performing, singing, playing, and sharing that with others. One thing that means the most to me at a performance is when someone comes up to me and tells me how much a song meant to them; or the surprise I see on peoples’ faces when I mentioned that the song I just did was an original because it flowed so well within my set, and they thought it was just a song they didn’t know. 

Music is so powerful. It can make people feel calm in times of chaos or hopeful in times of worry. It’s so rewarding to be a part of healing people’s souls. It’s an incredible feeling to be able to touch someone’s life like that, and I am humbled when that happens.

This past year, I’ve been investing in myself and studying the music industry, taking courses with top industry professionals, and listening to podcasts to stay current and motivated in how to navigate the new face of the music industry. That said, your funding of this album helps me to stay focused on my performing, creating, and getting my original music out there.
