Hello world! My name is Jack-Henry Day, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Los Angeles, California.

I’ve been writing songs ever since I learned how to sing. It’s how I processed the beautiful, confusing, and bewildering world around me. With a background in choir hymnals and musical theater, I learned quickly how to put on a show. However, what I didn’t know was that somehow and someday I’d be recording my own material for the whole world to hear. I’ve given these songs my time, my perspective, and my love. In short, they are at the core of my very being, and I’m finally getting the opportunity to share with you everything I’ve experienced. For that chance, I’m eternally grateful. 

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Bryan Fennelly in Boston, MA. Bryan is a Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Bryan and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Kiss Me,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Kiss Me" on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Bryan and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Whether it be through heartbreak, sorrow, joy, or confusion, I have always turned to music. Writing songs has served as the ultimate crutch. For a very long period, I wasn’t sure anyone would even be interested in hearing what I had to say. These are my most personal stories, thoughts and feelings. Why would anyone in their right mind put themselves on a public platform and expect anyone to care. That was the biggest internal struggle I’ve had to overcome again and again whenever I’m working on music. 

Thanks to the people in my life, family, loved ones, fans and friends, I’ve learned that my voice is not something to be ashamed or afraid of. In fact, it’s something that deserves and needs to be shared with the world. Nothing else in this world could grant the fulfillment I receive while writing music. Even if no one was there, even if my voice cracks, even if it took all the strength I had to bring pen to paper, I would do it anyway because it goes beyond passion and want. This is my purpose. Few people in the world are lucky enough to know with unbridled clarity what they were meant to do. I am one of them, and I intend on seeing this through until I simply cannot anymore. 

I know the scope of this project is bigger than myself. However, I am more than up for the challenge. Having released three songs already, shot and produced multiple music videos, and written more than a hundred songs, I know I have what it takes to bring this record to fruition. With your generous and thoughtful support, I know I can create something beautiful, raw, and indelible. I can’t wait to get back into the studio so I can show the world what I’ve been working on.
