Hello world! My name is Giselle, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Austin, TX.

Music and songwriting have always been huge parts of my life. I spent most of my childhood in Austin and Nashville surrounded by incredible music and musicians, including my Dad, who plays piano and sounds like the long lost brother of Joe Cocker and Ray Charles. I’ve been performing since I was knee-high to a piano! 

The experiences of this past year are akin to the fire that burns down a phoenix so she can be born again out of the ashes. Having the incredible good fortune to have toured all over the country early on in my career, I’ve spent this past year focusing on songwriting and embracing the vulnerability of sharing intimate feelings and experiences through this album. I’m incredibly proud to be the woman I am today, and I’m really thrilled to share the music of my soul with you. 

The material is ready, the musicians are waiting--this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first-ever professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my newest professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson, a Boston-based producer and engineer with 15+ years of experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Mike and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Fade,” and you can check it out below!

While we were able to fund the recording process for "Fade" on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio time costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Mike and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs, arrangements, and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end, so the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Music is a universal language, the friend you need when you want to dance and celebrate, or the shoulder you lean on when you just want to listen to sad music and feel less alone knowing that someone else has felt that way too. I write music to share experiences with people the way the music of my heroes have helped me. This past year, I went through some really drastic life changes. My marriage ended in a really traumatic way, and I experienced betrayal and loss that I was not prepared for. On the other side of that, I was met with immeasurable love and support of my family and friends. The music I listened to and the music I wrote throughout this time played a huge part in helping me to heal, survive, and go on to thrive.

I’ve never had the opportunity to partner with such an incredible team like the team at Plaid Dog. I’ve always done everything with my own two hands and a few incredible supporters along the way who believed in me and helped me get where I am today. I’ve worked incredibly hard throughout my career with endless hours on the road or in the studio, working day and night, playing gigs at midnight, and going back to work at 8am. I’m an incredibly passionate and committed artist. I feel like this opportunity to record my album has been positioned at a beautiful time in my life, which could be the tipping point for putting all of my hard work and all of your support over the edge to that big successful jumpoff we’ve been working toward.

My hope for this project is to create new opportunities to perform, collaborate, and continue to make great music for all of you who are listening. While I’ve toured with major artists, worked with incredible producers, and had my hand in several incredible music projects, I’d love to put out a really powerful album of my own and experience the journey that follows. With your support, we can make some incredibly authentic and high-caliber music together. No matter what follows or the journey that it leads to, we’ll always have this project, this music… you and me, me and you!
