Hello world! My name is Faragana and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful state of California.

Music entered my life unexpectedly, but once it did, everything changed. I had always carried a quiet urge to create, searching for it in different forms, trying to understand where that feeling belonged. When I realized that music was something I could create myself, the path ahead suddenly became clear. The songs I write are born from the thoughts that refuse to let me sleep—the questions, emotions, and stories that stay with me long after the night begins. They come from moments of doubt, wonder, and reflection. But I don’t believe these songs belong only to me. In one way or another, they are pieces of experiences many of us carry within ourselves. Through music, I’m simply giving those feelings a voice.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson  in Boston, MA. Mike is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Mike and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Yesterday (Ey Yar),” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Yesterday (Ey Yar)” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts.  and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It’s hard to express how much this project would change my life. Creating songs gave me a way to understand my thoughts, my emotions, and the world around me. After moving to a new country, when so much of life suddenly felt uncertain, music became the place where I could still recognize my own voice.

Music has this incredible ability to heal and connect people. It allows us to express feelings that are difficult to put into words and reminds us that we’re not alone in what we feel. The songs on this album come from the thoughts and questions that stay with me long after the day ends—the kinds of things that keep me awake at night.

For a long time, I created quietly and privately. Sharing something so personal can feel vulnerable. But now, for the first time, I feel brave enough to open this world to others and invite people into it. This project is my way of offering these songs to a wider community and seeing where that connection can grow.

Even though songwriting often begins in solitude, music has never truly been a solitary experience for me. It grows through the encouragement of people who listen, support, and believe in the process. Every conversation, every shared musical moment, every bit of encouragement has helped me continue on this path.

One of my biggest hopes for this project is that it will bring new creative connections—musicians, listeners, and collaborators who resonate with these songs and want to be part of the journey.

This will be my first professionally recorded album, but the path to it has been long. For years I’ve been writing, practicing, and learning how to bring these ideas to life. With your support, I will be able to turn these songs into a fully realized album.
