Hello world! My name is Elisa, and I'm a guitar player here in the beautiful city of Boston, Massachusetts.

I have been playing guitar for 15 years. I started with classical music and nylon string guitars, and played concerts in Italy through a conservatory I was attending there. In the meantime, I bought an electric guitar and played psychedelic rock, classic rock, and hard rock covers in festivals and local bars with my rock band. I moved to Boston 4 years ago and have written and played even more music since, exploring facets of music I had never been a part of before, such as jazz bands and musical theatre orchestras. The music I’ve been writing lately is a lot more mature than it used to be, and I now have great quality pieces of music to make an album out of.

The material is ready, the musicians are waiting--this crowdfunding campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever professionally-produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson, a Boston-based producer and engineer with 15+ years of experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Mike and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Sirens and Hope”, and you can check it out below!

While we were able to fund the recording process for "Sirens and Hope" on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Mike and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements, and we’ll talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

I have always felt this strong pull towards music, which used to scare my parents because no one in our family had ever been musician, not even for a hobby. Despite that, music just wouldn't stop calling, and I would absolutely refuse to hang up. After asking for an upright piano at 4 years old, and always receiving a response: "There is no way", I started building this impenetrable wall around me through the use of portable radios and CD players. I had to have music all around me at all times. If I wasn’t allowed to play it, at least I could listen to it. 

In the past couple of years, I’ve gone through so much, that I got inspired to write tons of music about everything that has been going on around me. I’ve written music about love stories, death, dreams, psychological breakdowns, social and political commentaries, humanitarian messages. Life, really. All in an instrumental fashion, but supported by artwork and written words. Now, all that’s left is to put everything on a record with a booklet and share it all with all of you.

While I have never prepared a music project of this caliber for recording purposes before, I have successfully managed and executed music projects for stage and other purposes for a long time. Only in the past year, I have written, arranged, copied and distributed music for many productions, large and small, from rock to jazz and musical theatre.

As the years go by and my musical career develops, I become more and more aware of the importance of the values of community, cooperation, kindness, and respect, in life as much as in the music industry. With your support, I will channel everything I’ve become, everything I’ve learned, everything I have for you, into something new and beautiful that we will have made together.
