Hello world! My name is Dominik R. Hyppolite, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful town of Milton, Massachusetts. 

I have been releasing music for close to 2 years now. Since my first release in March 2019, “If I Believe,” I have garnered over 70,000 streams across all platforms, raised $400 for BLM charities, and created a video for mental health awareness month. With each project, I aim to start an open dialogue about pressing issues and to allow others to be vulnerable in a welcoming community. I have some brand new songs to continue this message that are ready to record, and I can’t wait to share them. 

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Bryan Fennelly in Boston, MA. Bryan is a Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Bryan and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Butterflies,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Butterflies" on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Bryan and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

My team and I have a beautiful lineup of new original music that touches on topics I have always wanted to write about. I wanted to write about things that allowed me to clear my head and feel less alone. I wanted to be an advocate for teenagers and young adults’ mental health. Certain songs on this album will explore themes that put this at the forefront. I hope that these songs will allow others to feel supported and understood. Using the platform I’ve already developed to share this message is a responsibility that I take with excitement and open arms. 

This project would also allow me to make some crucial steps forward in my career as a musician. It will allow me to show my music and artistry to a new audience, showing them a range of genres and stories throughout the album. It will also give me experience in large projects that I can implement in the future and give insight to others about creating something truly special. This will only be the beginning of what I have in store.
