Hello world! My name is Heather Ré and I'm a singer-songwriter with roots in Texas & Louisiana.

I’ve been writing songs for over 10 years, and have been lucky to perform all over the country with some talented artists. Songwriting is like breathing for me, a natural way for me to navigate my way in this world and share my experiences and feelings with others. While songwriting can be a fairly lonely and solo endeavor, it’s playing with other musicians and getting to share my songs out to live audiences that I’m really passionate about. That’s where the magic happens. This campaign will help me to give my songs the “complete” sound through arrangements with other musicians, and give me the boost I need to get back out there and meet y’all in person!

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson  in Boston, MA. Mike is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together,  and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Rolling River,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Rolling River” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts.  and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

I’ve never tried a fundraising campaign before, and it’s a bit overwhelming to be reaching out for support. However, I absolutely could not get my songs out there with the level of professional quality and attention they deserve without your support.

It’s one thing to write a song and play it acoustically for friends, or at an open mic. But, to believe in that song enough to hear the fullness of its potential and to connect with other musicians to realize that in a timeless recording? That’s truly a gift.

I have self-produced my first two albums, but this is the first time I’m working with a professional studio and receiving this level of talent and support through Plaid Dog . They have helped other artists like me launch their careers and reach their creative and professional goals.
