Hello world! My name is Cherish Danae, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Mission, Texas.

For as long as I can remember, music has always been a part of my life. From singing in church choirs, to watching my parents perform at weddings, to studying music and becoming a choir teacher! The most inspiring thing about music to me is the way it connects people and the way it can evoke emotion, and that is my goal with this project.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio EP.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded EP with Mike Davidson in Boston, MA. Mike is a Boston-based producer and engineer with 15+ years of experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Mike and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “All Along,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "All Along" on my own, to create an EP of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Mike and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the EP. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this EP. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the EP will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

When the pandemic hit in 2020, like most people, I was stuck at home with way more time on my hands than I knew what to do with, and my pastime of choice was the world wide web. Connecting with people, meeting new friends, and seeing other creatives put out their art inspired me to do the same. Writing “Silence (Edward’s Soliloquy)” was the first step on my writing journey, and because of it, I’ve had incredible opportunities to perform my songs and arrange them for others to perform themselves!

This project is also an incredible opportunity for collaboration. Up until this point, I have had the joy of learning how to make my own music and take care of every step of the process, but as I grow as a singer and songwriter, I find there is so much to be learned from other musicians! Doing it all on your own if great, but having other people who want to bring your musical vision to life is not only liberating and validating, but it is so much fun! .

This will be my biggest project to date: my first EP. Every moment of the last three years has been preparing me for this moment, and I cannot say thank you enough to the people who’ve been with me along the way. I’ve written the songs, I’ve practiced, and I know that with your support, we can bring some beautiful musical moments to life.
