Overview

I’ve been making music as long as I can remember. Growing up in Alabama, I was the kid that never turned down a chance to sing, perform, or play the piano—whether it was in church choirs, school musicals, or marching down the streets of Dublin in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. I earned scholarships to study music in college, and eventually found my voice not just as a performer, but as a writer, too.

I worked as a demo singer in New York, studied privately at Juilliard, trained in live audio in Aspen, and arranged for and performed with a fantastic Leonard Cohen cover band. I’ve spent years helping others—students, vocalists, fellow musicians—supporting their growth while quietly building my own voice in the background.

More recently, I started sharing songs at open mics and singer-songwriter showcases, testing out my new material, connecting with audiences, and growing in my confidence as an artist. Now, I’m ready for my voice to be heard. My songs are shaped by heartache, devotion, wonder, and all the life I’ve lived in between—from the humid summers of the South to the long winters of the Midwest. They’re influenced by poetry, prayer, love, and loss—and the belief that music can help everyone understand who they are and what matters most. After a literal lifetime of preparation, this is me stepping out. Not to prove anything—but to share myself, one song at a time.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson  in Boston, MA. Mike is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together,  Mike and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Apple Wine,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Apple Wine”, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts.  and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

Music has been the constant through every chapter of my life—from the long, quiet hours at the piano as a child in Alabama, to the packed halls of conservatories, to the open mics and showcases where I began sharing my own songs. I’ve performed Renaissance motets and pop ballads, taught the fundamentals of music to students of all ages, and arranged for cover bands and recitals. I’ve lived the life of a classical musician and teacher, but this—writing, recording, and releasing my own original music—is a new and thrilling leap.

This project means everything to me because it represents not just my voice, but the bridge between two musical worlds I love: classical and commercial, tradition and innovation. I want my songs to resonate with people who may never set foot in a concert hall, but still feel the power of harmony, nuance, and poetic storytelling. I want to break down the intimidating walls of academia and invite everyone in.

I’ve spent a lifetime honoring the voices of great composers and helping others find their sound. Now, I’m asking for support to bring my voice to life—professionally recorded, produced, and arranged with care. I believe this project will not only deepen my own artistry, but also spark new collaborations, expand my creative circle, and open doors I haven’t yet imagined.
