Hello world! My name is Cammie and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Holly Spring, NC.

Born and raised in North Carolina, I grew up in a very musical household. With a tendency to be a little anxious and shy about performing, I loved singing so much that I always made a point to be involved in some aspect of it like with the church choir or school choir. I didn’t really start seriously writing songs until I was a teenager. But taking interest in the keys pretty early in life, my parents bought me my first keyboard at age 7 with upgrades throughout my childhood. From that point on, I was always playing with the different sounds I could create - even performing in the living room for my parents. Now, after all these years, I don’t feel complete unless I’m making music in some capacity. 

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson  in Boston, MA. Mike is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together,  and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life.

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “I Didn’t Lie,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "I Didn’t Lie” on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts.  and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Throughout my creative career, I have always looked for outlets to collaborate with other musical artists and see how I can really push my boundaries with my sound. My close friends and family have always supported me in my endeavors and I am so grateful for that! I have released several projects of various scopes and none of it would be possible without the support and encouragement of the wonderful people in my life. 

When it comes to creating and recording music, one thing that can be difficult to impart to those who aren’t familiar with the process is the fact that it isn’t always easy to initiate an undertaking like this. While the technology is more accessible, even to the amateur artist, when you want something that is of professional quality it’s a matter of going above and beyond a bedroom studio and calling in other musicians and peers who know the art and the science behind properly recording and engineering music.

In my constant search for collaborators, I was really stoked when I came across an ad on Instagram for Plaid Dog Studio. I was even more ecstatic when my application I submitted was approved! I really felt validated as an artist, which is such a motivating factor in the creative process.

What makes this project so unique is that I will have the opportunity to work with different artists who will be able to realize my vision in new and exciting ways! The crowd-funding aspect of this project will help me expand my network and hopefully get my music to new listeners. With your support, I can make this new vision come to life while sharing some fun updates with you along the way.
