Hello world! My name is Britt Hayhurst, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful upstate of South Carolina.

I have been around and/or involved with the local music scene for most of my life. Having parents as musicians and other family members involved in music in one way or another, helped mold me into the what i like to describe myself as, a diverse musician, Fast forward to the age of 14, i meet my now husband, Kraig, where my teenage “garage band” days were in full swing. Another part of my journey so far that helped mold me, and teach me what it takes to be a musician, a local musician. We write and record a full album, played a few shows, and dwindled down and away as we got older and took more of adult life. The music scene was very sparse then compared to now where there is a venue in every corner and hundreds of bands to available to book. I wasn’t ready, and it wasn’t time. So I did the career thing, tried different things, went to school a couple times, and now it is 2019. My still musician over the years was playing pretty much all the time with a local band of friends. By this time, the music scene is booming, female musicians were coming from every direction. Most great, others not so much, but I got inspired, and really ached to spend more time with my husband.

Here is where Adjacent Hays, a 4 piece pure, high energy, rock n roll band comes in. My project for the last few years alongside Kraig (husband) and other absolutely amazing talented musicians, has now led me eager for more. I have been networking learning how be an independent artist nd where to even start, met so many amazing people, friends, venue owners who took a chance on me, family, and the best part is, I found my “Gypsy Soul” along the way.

All of the sudden I needed to see where i could go, what I could do. Once I learned that fear is created, I quit limiting myself, and here I am. Devine higher power has led me along such an exciting journey and will continue to do so in some fshion i am so excited to see where my path leads after this, and you can have a front row seat with me!

Music is part of life’s vlibration, the way it makes you feel, takes you back instantly to a memory, change your entire emotional state for the bad or for the better, it’s what makes the world around in my eyes, and most importantly, heals the soul. I am hoping that my music can be part of others in this life

Original music is where you stand out. I need your help to raise the funding for the rest of my album. You have a chance to have your own voice now with who you would like to hear on the radio. No more record labels finding the mediocre talent just because they have sellable image. Just a few dollars means more than you realize in the eyes of this gypsy soul. The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Mike Davidson in Boston, MA. Mike is a Boston-based producer and engineer with 15+ years of experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Mike and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life.

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Gypsy Soul,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Gypsy Soul" on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Mike and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

This is my first attempt at doing anything solo, therefore, I don’t have anything to lose. I simply am enjoying every second of this experience, learning and meeting like mind people who genuinely love music the same I do, has been the best part. I am so very grateful for this opportunity and see where my voice and what I have to say leads me. I can say that whatever follows this single is what meant to be, and I will take it all as humbly as possible, making sure I give all the credit to the music lovers out there who have supported me over the years in this musical journey.
