Hello world! My name is Avriana, and I'm a singer-songwriter here in the beautiful city of Tucson, Arizona.

I’ve been playing instruments and writing music ever since I was 11 years old. I began playing the flute when I was in 6th grade. Before this point of my life, playing instruments was not exactly my cup of tea. It wasn't long before I had fallen in love with music.

I spent every second not only practicing my flute, but teaching myself to play other instruments. I taught myself piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin and even the cello. I filled my school scheduel with every music class I could possibly take. Of all the instruments I taught myself to play, my all time favorite was the guitar. I spent hours every day practicing in my garage. When I was 15, all I wanted for Christmas was a loop pedal. I got my wish this year and that was when I started writing guitar loops and instrumentals. My weekends were spent in the garage. I would jam from the moment I woke up till the middle of the night. I started posting my loops on instagram and I realized that people enjoyed them. I just kept one secret from everyone… I could also sing. For years I would sing in my room or in the shower or when everyone was gone. I would do this so much but I never had the courage to do it in front of anyone. I soon changed that and started posting covers and original songs I had written. I spent a lot of my time writing music and posting my videos on instagram and tiktok. One day an old high school friend who was a producer asked to record one of my songs. This would be my first ever recorded song, “Dayz”. I released this as a single and it did well which gave me the motivation to continue. I began teaching myself music production and was recording my music on my own. Like I did with music, I fell in love with music production and took courses to help me learn. I was simultaneously recording my first album in a professional studio and getting to learn more about production as I was doing it. This was a very amazing experience for me. I not only got a piece of what music production is like in the professional world of music, but I also got to see my songs and ideas come to life. This made me want to work even harder. As soon as I submitted my album for release, I found Plaid Dog. I researched them and decided why not take a shot… Now we are here, I have put so much time into this project and I am ready to share with you all what we have been working on.

The material is ready, and the musicians are waiting -- this Plaid Dog campaign is the final step toward creating my first ever, professionally produced studio album.

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Carter Sanders in Boston, MA. Carter is a Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, Carter and I are digging into my original material, writing arrangements, and reaching out to local musicians to bring the songs to life. 

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called “Don’t Go Crazy,” and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "Don’t Go Crazy" on my own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give us a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. Carter and I will start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album. We’ll hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much this project would change my life.

Music has been in every part of who I am for as long as I can remember. I have been chasing something I can see in the distance. Every step I take gets me closer; this is a HUGE step for me. A jump. I am not afraid of the hard work ahead of me and I am confident that I CAN DO THIS. I wouldn't have been able to get this far without the support of all the people who believe in me.
