Hello world I’m Ashley Laschelle, an artist here in the beautiful city of Chicago, IL.

I made my first project titled “the introduction” in 2011 shortly after Graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Vocal Jazz performance. I performed around town promoting that project, but a few years later, started production on what I like to call a journey of what I was experiencing as a young adult and the trials and tribulations that came along. My next project simply titled “letting go” was released in 2013. I was the most transparent and vulnerable with what I was feeling at the time, in hopes to encourage and inspire others who may have felt the same way, and to know that they were not alone. This leads to the latest project titled “Beautiful”, released just last year in 2023. I let a lot of time pass in between projects to simply live life, and honestly it was hard. I had so much to say but paying for studio costs, musicians, etc can be alot on an independent artist. Beautiful was about how most things we think are not so pretty, usually has a lesson tied to it, making that journey simply beautiful to go through.

 Now, that leads us to this next project. There's no title of the album just yet, but the single “a million reasons” is on its way to you!  In order for the next album to exist outside of my head and live up to  its true potential, I  need your help!

I'm super excited about the direction of this new project, which I promise will still encourage and inspire others through the winding roads of life as we can all use daily encouragement. 

This campaign is raising funds for my professionally recorded album with Ryan Gallagher in Boston, MA. Ryan is a seasoned Boston-based producer and engineer with experience working with both established and up-and-coming musicians. Together, I’m arranging new songs along with previous faces from the past 3 projects along with studio musicians to bring the songs to life.

We’ve been able to cover the costs of recording and producing one song, which is ready for you to check out right here on this page. This first song is called ”A Million Reasons”, and you can check it out below!

While I’ve been able to fund the recording process for "”A Million Reasons”” on my  own, to create an album of songs of this quality, studio costs add up quickly. With that said, this campaign can give me  a unique opportunity to collaborate and make great art together. Your donation will cover the following costs of my project:

1. Pre-Production: This is where everything starts. We’ll start crafting the arrangements for each song slated for the album, hold rehearsals to fine-tune the songs and arrangements, and talk through new and exciting ideas for how to approach the recording process.

2. Recording: This is when we enter the studio and start capturing the music and where the songs become what you'll hear on this album. This campaign will play a huge role in making sure we have enough time to capture great performances for every member of the band.

3. Mixing & Mastering: Each track will get mixed to create the right balance between instruments, texture and color that make up a track. As a final step, the album will be mastered from beginning to end so that the listening experience is cohesive and carefully choreographed from start to finish.

It's hard to express how much your support in the making of this project would mean to me.

A well-recorded album would open a lot of doors in terms of future opportunities, namely in securing larger venues and acquiring a wider listenership. More gigs, more opportunities to have songs on radio streams, all social platforms, creating a buzz around the Ashley Laschelle Brand. 

Friends and family have been supportive and encouraging throughout my career, and i know more people would want to hear what i want to say which is truly needed in today’s times
